Miami Upgrades Deliver Measurable Gains
Red Bull has made substantial progress in closing its performance deficit to the F1 frontrunners through its upgrade package at the Miami Grand Prix. According to ESPN F1, Max Verstappen stated that the team has halved the gap to the leading pack with the upgrades brought to Miami.
Autosport and Motorsport.com both reported that Verstappen believes Red Bull's wealth of upgrades have so far "almost halved" the gap to the leaders, though he acknowledged that weaknesses remain in this year's RB22 that require further development.
Innovative Aero Solution
Among the technical highlights of Red Bull's Miami package is the team's interpretation of active rear wing design. According to Autosport, Red Bull caught the eye with its own version of the "Macarena" rear wing, which rotates around 180 degrees when the active aero system is turned on for straight mode.
This engineering approach underscores Red Bull's bid to regain competitiveness after a challenging start to the 2026 season, with the upgrade package representing a meaningful step toward closing the performance window.
