Terms of Service

The rules of the race. Please read them — unlike the FIA Technical Regulations, these are under 500 pages.

Last updated: 11 May 2026 · Effective immediately

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of f1raceintel.com and all associated services operated by F1 Race Intel ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform — much like how you shouldn't enter the pitlane if you're not ready to commit to the strategy.

Consider this your pre-race briefing. It's mandatory, it matters, and ignoring it has consequences. Unlike actual pre-race briefings, we've tried to make this one readable.

1. Who We Are — The Entry List

Independent. Passionate. Not FOM. Definitely not the FIA.

F1 Race Intel is an independent fan platform providing Formula 1 race intelligence, analysis, predictions, and editorial content. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Formula 1, Formula One Management (FOM), the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), or any Formula 1 constructor team. We're the fan in the grandstand with better data — not the team principal with a headset.

All Formula 1 team names, driver names, and related marks referenced on this platform are used for editorial and informational purposes only under fair use principles. Same reason Sky Sports can say "Ferrari had a bad day" without paying Ferrari a licensing fee.

2. Your Account — Your Super Licence

Harder to get than a Super Licence? No. But the rules still apply.

  • You must be 13 years or older to create an account — the minimum age to understand what DRS is.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. Don't share it, not even with your race engineer.
  • You must provide accurate information when registering. No fake names — we're looking at you, "Max Verstappen from Milton Keynes".
  • You may not create accounts for others without their permission.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Consider it a black flag.

3. Free & Premium — The Compound Choice

Soft gets you in the door. Hard goes the full season.

Free Tier — The Intermediate

Free accounts have access to general race news, the calendar, standings, driver profiles, team information, and The Debrief Room general briefings. Good for most conditions. Free tier features may change over time — like Pirelli compounds, we reserve the right to adjust the allocation.

Premium Tier — The Soft

Premium subscribers have access to the full Pitwall dashboard, driver-specific intelligence, Garage Spy, telemetry analysis, race predictions, and personalised email briefings. Maximum performance, maximum grip. Premium features are subject to availability and may evolve over time — we're always developing, just like a 2026 car.

4. Subscriptions & Billing — The Prize Fund

Less complicated than the Concorde Agreement. We checked.

Merchant of record: Subscriptions are sold and billed by Savage Branding (Pty) Ltd (CIPC reg. 2023/936006/07), trading as F1 Race Intel, with payment processing provided by our merchant of record, Paddle.com Market Ltd. Your bank statement will show the descriptor F1RACEINTEL.

Pricing: Premium subscriptions are billed at the rate displayed at checkout (currently USD $4.94/month for individual, USD $7.99/month for family plan). Prices may change with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers — no surprise cost caps mid-season.

Billing: Your subscription renews automatically on the same date each month unless cancelled — like a race calendar, it just keeps going.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your profile settings or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain Premium access until then.

Refunds: We offer a full refund within 14 days of your initial subscription. To request a refund, contact us at billing@f1raceintel.com or via Paddle's checkout receipt.

Failed payments: If a payment fails, we will retry — we're not going to DNF you immediately. After repeated failures, your account may be downgraded to the free tier until payment is resolved.

Referral credits: Free months earned through the referral programme are applied automatically and are non-transferable and non-redeemable for cash. Points are points — you can't cash out a championship.

5. Acceptable Use — The Track Limits

Four wheels inside the white line. These are the white lines.

You agree not to — and yes, these are enforced more consistently than Turn 4 at Austin:

Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the platform Automated data extraction without permission is a clear track limits violation
Reproduce, redistribute, or republish our editorial content without permission Our briefings are ours — cutting and pasting them elsewhere is a DSQ offence
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform There's no secret DRS zone in our codebase. Don't look for one
Use the platform for any unlawful purpose Straightforward. Don't be that person
Impersonate another person or entity Not even Lewis Hamilton, though we understand the temptation
Transmit spam, malware, or harmful code Absolute black flag. No appeal
Interfere with the platform's performance or security Causing a virtual Safety Car for other users will result in immediate termination

6. Data Accuracy — The Timing Tower

Sometimes the timing tower is wrong. So are we, occasionally.

F1 Race Intel provides race data, analysis, and predictions for informational and entertainment purposes only. We make no warranties as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data or predictions on this platform. Race data is sourced from third-party providers and may contain errors or delays — even the official timing system went down at Spa once.

Do not make financial, betting, or safety decisions based on content from this platform. If your betting slip references our predictions, that's on you. We're fans, not oracles.

7. Intellectual Property — The Constructors' Championship

Our stuff is ours. Their stuff is theirs. Clear as a DRS detection line.

All original content on F1 Race Intel — including our editorial articles, briefings, design, code, and brand assets — is owned by Savage Branding (Pty) Ltd (trading as F1 Race Intel) and protected by copyright. Please don't steal it. We worked hard on it and we have a legal page now, so we're clearly serious.

All Formula 1-related trademarks, imagery, team names, driver names, car liveries, and related intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners (Formula One Licensing BV, the constructor teams, Pirelli, etc.) and are used under editorial fair use. Full disclosure in the footer — we're not trying to hide anything in the floor.

8. Limitation of Liability — The Crash Barrier

We've got SAFER barriers. But we're still not liable for everything on the other side of them.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, F1 Race Intel shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or service interruption. We're a fan platform, not an insurance policy.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim. If you paid us $14.97 and something went wrong, that's the ceiling — not the Monaco crash barrier.

9. Service Availability — The VSC Clause

Sometimes we need to slow things down. Briefly.

We aim to keep F1 Race Intel available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access — not even AWS guarantees that, and they have considerably more servers than we do. We may suspend the service temporarily for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. Think of it as a Virtual Safety Car: brief, necessary, and over before you know it.

For extended outages, contact us at billing@f1raceintel.com and we'll work with you on a fair resolution — separate from the standard 14-day refund window above. Brief maintenance windows are part of normal operations.

10. Governing Law — The Home Circuit

South Africa. Our home race. Our rules apply here.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts. Yes, that means if you want to take us to court, you'll need to come to South Africa. We hear the weather is lovely.

11. Changes to These Terms — The Technical Directive

We'll give you notice. And an explanation. Unlike some TDs we could mention.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect — enough time to read them, unlike TD018 which gave teams about 48 hours. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Contact — The Stewards' Pen

We respond. We explain our reasoning. We are not the stewards.
